Tishomingo County has a unified school district consisting of two high schools, one middle school, three elementary schools, and one career and technical school. All schools are rated high performing ("A" rated or "B" rated), with the district rated as an "A" in 2017-2018. The average ACT score of the district is 19.0. Students in grades 7 through 12 have 1:1 technology devices for individualized learning, and high school students have the opportunity to take college classes through Northeast Mississippi Community College as well as Advanced Placement courses. The graduation rate is 85%, and the district has over 95% of its students passing the Literacy Promotion test in third grade. Each campus offers extracurricular activities through athletics, clubs, and the fine arts. The Boys & Girls Club offers after school tutoring and educational programs and activities.

Job training for the community is offered by Northeast Mississippi Community College which is located 30 minutes driving time in Booneville. With over 3,000 students, NEMCC is the largest provider of job training to manufacturers in the state. Colleges attended by local citizens include the following (enrollment):
